Did you get a picture before he got down??

I ran and grabbed him. It pulled the chandallier partly out of the ceiling.

This has been the LONGEST week!!! My computer has been down all week. No contact with the outside world. I about went nuts! I did get a lot done around the house, though...

Of course, I have a gazillion emails to catch up on. But, the first one was THE BEST! My friend's wife had surgery today. All biopsies came back negative!!! I can't tell you how happy I am for them. She is young, late 30's at best...

OH, His, that is wonderful news.

My laptop broke down and my husband could not fix it, so I took it into a computer place and they will take everything off and re-load windows from scratch. It will cost me $100 + tax. Better than a new computer, but I think I'm going to start saving up for a new one. I hardly do anything on my computer: word processor, excel, play DVD's and internet. That's it. I don't need anything fancy.

What would be so bad about strep that it would send a person to the hospital for it? A friend of mine was just admitted to the hospital for strep. We were just at their home Sunday. Caleb also has strep, and I never thought of having to go to the hospital for strep and was wondering what would be THAT bad. I only came up with dehydration or glands so big that you can't breathe. I had it more times than I can remember when I was growing up, but never went to the hospital (although it was threatened when I had it with Mono and lost a big percentage of my weight).

Strep Throat can become extremely serious. It can lead to Scarlet Fever.

Yeah, we had just gone over to their house Sunday for sledding. She and I had a nice time over mint coco. It is so nice to have a friend close by where we can visit back and forth without it being a big deal. I don't know if I have ever had a friend like that since my college days. Even better is that she seems to enjoy my company as much as I enjoy hers, AND her kid is like a part of our family. It has been such a blessing to me. I can't wait to hear more news. I will probably call over there tomorrow.

A friend of mine was hospitalized when her strep turned to scarlet fever; I barely managed to stay out of the hospital a couple years ago with strep (they said it had gotten to a mild form of scarlet fever and called it scarletina). It was so much fun....
Hope your friend gets better very soon!

I've finished four weeks of my externship! And I'm about exhausted; so thankful my Dad is working on alot of the schoolwork with my boys. Now I just have to start looking for a job...

Ellie-Mae--better than googling it would be to ask our own private nurse-Cindy! Where has she been anyway???

Weirdest thing... I have a friend at church. She's the one who was so friendly to me when I first started attending. She's been hounding me to get together. Well, considering what I'm going through right now, I'm content to sit on the sidelines because I don't want to be that "needy" friend. She won't take that as an answer. She's invited me to her house for coffee Monday afternoon. What is up with this? I don't get it!

The neatest thing happened yesterday. I had a really good run on Thursday where I had the chance to "talk things over" with God. Some scriptures came to mind so I looked 'em up yesterday. The NIV didn't quite make sense, so I decided to look it up in KJ. I have three KJ bibles. I just happened to pick my Great Grandma's. This bible has notes in it and from there I found exactly what I needed! Also, there are hand written notes from my Great Grandma. She also used her bible as a filing cabinet and there were things from 1908. How cool is that?!

Gotta head to work!

His, that is so cool! I love reading things from past generations and realizing that they went through a lot of the same things we see now. It helps me get a better perspective on life.

How wonderful, His. It is so good to see you being nurtured by the Lord. I think the lady from church is moved by the Holy Spirit to minister to you. Let her. It will bless you both.

Scarlet fever is just strep with a rash . . . not enough to send someone to the hospital. However, strep can infect the heart muscle, which is the most common reason to be hospitalized. There are also some other uncommon complications, but if I had to bet money, I'd bet heart.

Umm, could it possibly be that you are a wonderful person that she enjoys spending time with? I know I'd be hounding you to have coffee if I lived close enough - I like hanging out with you.

And very cool about your grandma's bible.

I have had a lovely week. Payroll messed up big time, and I didn't get paid Thursday. Of course I had automatic payments scheduled, so things are bouncing all over the place. I'm gonna talk to the bank manager on Monday and see if she'll take pity on me - otherwise I have about $200 in bounce fees.

Me too. I'm glad Cindy brought that up. Of course she likes you. My thinking was in response to feeling like a needy person, but just because you feel needy, His, doesn't mean that people don't want to be around you. She may not even realize you feel needy.

Ouch. That sounds terrible. Will your work help you out on that? Isn't it their fault?

Cindy--You're just missing your Rosie. I'll have to bring Benny for a visit.

No, seriously, she knows. She picked up on the fact that I was upset at the retreat and suggested that we go for a walk and let the guys talk power tools. The day that I was in the middle of a major crisis, I emailed her and asked her to pray. So, yah, she knows.

People can still like you if you're in crisis. You are important part of our group here and add to our discussions in a positive way. We like you whatever condition you happen to be in at the moment. We all have our issues.

I am at the library waiting for a meeting to start. I got here at 3:00 and no one was here, so I came on-line to find out if I was at the wrong place. Apparently the meeting starts at 3:15, not 3:00, so I'm early. It's nice to be early. However, I am also going to have to leave early, because church starts at 5:00 and I have to be home at 4:30 to take the family to church. This library is 20 minutes from home. It's two towns over from where we live.

So what about having a crisis makes you unlikeable? That's why you have friends - we know you're a mess, and we love you anyway. Heck, my whole past month has been one big crisis - if my friends didn't like me unless my life was perfect, I'd be in deep doo-doo. But, ok, I wouldn't mind snuggling your hound.

Payroll isn't gonna do anything about my bank fees, Cynthia, because, you know, it was a computer error. That means it's no one's fault. I am actually fortunate, because the guy in payroll took pity on me and cut me an emergency check. When the direct deposit fails for some reason, your check is mailed to you. So there is a check out there in the postal system somewhere that I will probably get sometime next week. I had to promise to bring that check back to payroll when I get it since they don't stop payment - I could still cash it. If it doesn't come back by the time the next pay date rolls around then they will deduct the amount from that pay.

Thanks. You do realize I am going to save this post for sometime when I'm in crisis?

His, I don't mean to make light of things, but want you to see that we really do not see you as some basket case person. We like you. We like having you around. To you it may seem like everyone else has it together or something, but trust me, we all have issues and we all have crisis. I remember feeling like a downer for quite a while when we were going through a lot of junk. I take breaks from time to time, but one of those breaks was because I felt like I was too negative to hang around here. No one said that or gave me that impression, I just felt so sad all the time that it didn't occur to me that people might still like me. Thing is, that is when we need to be around others who care for us and do like us and want to support us. When we most need others is not the time to check out. Besides when you were gone before, we got worried about you and missed having you around.
